2.) This case study consists of an infectious disease most commonly associated with the lungs. Its primary cause is acid-fast bacillus, Mycobacterium tuberculosis. First, I was able to come to the conclusion by analyzing the patient’s sputum sample test results. The result of an acid-fast stain of sputum showed short bright pink rods. Culture of the organism causing his infection showed irregular, rough colonies after 6 weeks of incubation. (GET THE NAME OF THE MEDIA FOR THE TESTS AND INSERT HERE) (1). The same organism was detected by bronchoalveolar lavage fluid from the right middle lobe of his lung. The next clue came from the patient’s history and symptoms, which consists of a 2-month history of fevers, night sweats, cough with sputum production, and a 25-lb weight loss. The patient had high body temperatures of 39.4* C.
