Before seeing the movie "Shakespeare in Love" I thought of Macbeth as a movie or a
play that is act in this period of time, but after seeing the movie it was easier for me to
relate the period of time in which it was written and the play. In Shakespeare in Love the
whole scenario is based on that time in which Shakespeare wrote the play, and makes the
reader of such plays imagine it with a better picture of what it looked like back then.
Back in the 1600's the plays where exhibited in a theater without roof and the
audience was almost in the stage. They were very participative and answered to the
actors, this made me imagine in the scene where Macbeth fights with Macduff, the people
screaming and shouting. I also imagine the part that Macbeth is about to kill Duncan, the
people desperate screaming at Duncan so he could weak up and see Macbeth. Other
aspect of that time was that no women was allowed to act in a play, it was against the
law. This made me imagine Lady Macbeth being played by a man dressed like a women.
Maybe it was funny the way they looked and talked and that gave the play more
enthusiasm.
In the movie the character of Shakespeare said that he had to be inspired to write a
play, and this makes me think that maybe he was inspired by a true story that happened
during that time. Maybe he saw that somebody killed a king by conspiring against him
and this gave Shakespeare a good inspiration...
