While sitting alone somewhere, I often find myself looking at people from a distance and try to think about what they do, what kind of car they drive, whether they're friendly, bitchy, quiet, rude, etc. And of course, the whole time you're sitting there you're hoping they don't catch you staring at them. If they do and their usually is one, you either find yourself trying to avoid eye contact by quickly moving your eyes or just giving a nod of your head with a dumb little smile. The human race is an amazing group and it never ceases to amaze me at what we can do. People watching is an interesting pastime if you are not in a hurry and have nothing in particular to do. Today while I was at the mall, I noticed three people; I would like to tell you why I chose them and what my perceptions of them were.
The first person I noticed today was someone that pulled up right next to me in the parking lot, driving a Lincoln Navigator and when I say right next to me, I mean close. Do you think she took the time to back up and reposition in her spot? Heck no, just left it right there. With barely enough room to open my door I got out and slowly followed her to see what the rush was and why she couldn't have taken the time to give me a little more room...
