This "Feasts to End a Fast" plate is a fine ceramic dish that is decorated in Kufic calligraphy, as in the Quaran. The maker of this plate is unknown, but many Islamic people were taught to create these types of plates. It is a Seventh Century Persian platter that comes from Islam. This plate is based on the Fourth Pillar of Faith of Islam, which was fasting from dawn until sunset during the season of Ramadan. Fasting was supposed to make Muslims closer to the God of Allah by understanding how the poor suffer while gaining the emotion of sympathy. It also taught Muslims to discipline their bodies and confess their sins.
This platter was beautiful; although, it was usually covered by food. The plate was a white color with an orange tint. It also had black outlining the outside rim of the plate. The calligraphy writing was also in black color...
