"The Missionary position" is a story about two American journalists, Sojourner and the narrator, who were captured by Iraqi soldiers during the Gulf War. They were captured by the Iraqi soldiers and imprisoned t in Baghdad Howard Johnson hotel. Sojourner and the narrator were locked in that hotel room for days with only two meals and no running water for most of the days. The war between United States and Iraq started while they were in the hotel room, but shortly after that they were dragged out of their room and placed on top of the roof of the hotel by the Iraqi soldiers. On the roof they witnessed the most horrifying scenes of the bombing of the city. When the bombing seemed to stop, they were again brought back to their room and were given their second meal. The journalists had a romantic moment after they had their second meal. During their romantic moment a bomb hit the hotel, but luckily Sojourner and the narrator survived. All the Iraqi solders were out of scene when they found themselves laying on sand.
After their survival, Sojourner and the narrator started to walk to a place where they saw a plane coming hopping to find someone to rescue them...
