Was Eating the Apple the Right Decision?
In every story, each character is looked at in a different way. Every character is placed by the author, by the things they do and the decisions they make. In Paradise Lost, written by John Milton, Eve is characterized as the weaker person in some ways and stronger in others. In Paradise Lost it was the right thing for Eve to eat the apple even though she was doing against what she was told.
After Adam and Eve are created there is a part of the story when Eve is staring into a still pool of water. She is staring at herself. She says to Adam, "There I had fixed Mine eyes till now, and pined with vain desire". (Book IV 465) Milton is showing her loving herself and showing qualities of being very vain. From the beginning of the book Eve makes it seem that Adam needs to guide her or go ahead which makes her seem like she cannot so anything by herself...
