The war in Iraq has proved to be a long and tiresome venture. Prior to the initial strike, many conflicting opinions surrounded the controversial topic of whether or not to go to war. In both of the articles that I read from Time magazine, sufficient information was provided to ascertain that an attack on Iraq was imminent. ... Both of these statements indicated that Clark was trying to convince his audience of the necessity of war, and America’s need to approach these two menaces with extreme caution. ... In another section of his article, Adelman used the pathos appeal to convince his readers that an immediate attack on Iraq was critical. ...
To conclude, Iraq has presented the United States with a major dilemma. ... Both articles presented here have followed along these lines of an impending attack on the country of Iraq.
