These crimes continue to be a major problem in the United States with over nine-thousand reported victims every year (FBI 1). While hate crimes in comparison to many other forms of crime are miniscule (only 11 of the 25,000 murders of last year were considered hate crimes) you must remember that they don’t just affect one person.
