In the Digital Age, there is no reason to have to live 365 days a year in the same over-contaminated industrial environs as the one in which one made a fortune, and observe that many wealthy security & health-conscious Westerners are now, from several weeks a year, to several months a year, to even permanently, relocating to much healthier non-industrial environments. All these people, who feel uneasy with the prospect of permanent life inside increasingly overcontaminated, violent and noisy industrial Western giant cities, may be forming the rudimentary beginnings of an entirely different civilization with the potential attributes of elimination of many terminal diseases through exercise, medicine, diet, genetic engineering, organ cloning, greatly extended life by science adjusting the hitherto presumed-infallible and sacred aging process, and more. Craig McCaw, who teamed up with Bill Gates of Microsoft, Motorola, Boeing, the Abu Dhabi Investment Company and Saudi Arabian Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdul Aziz Alsaud to launch the low-altitude satellite system Teledesic, puts the exodus this way:
"If it's successful, McCaw continues, Teledesic may do nothing less than 'change dramatically the cultural patterns the world was built on.'...
McCaw believes such a change would encourage a reversal of urbanization and a return of humankind to its nomadic, rural roots....It is 'the ultimate egalitarian product,' he says. 'Teledesic is a transfer of power to the village from the city, just as the Internet is a transfer of power to the individual. We are granting people the right to interact with each other..
