The Death of Socrates was Just.
Socrates has a long history with the people of Athens and we seem to have only remembered him with rose-colored glasses. Socrates is not a saint and his death was just and the right decision. Socrates has shown both a pattern of irresponsibility and recklessness with his actions in Athens. Some people say that Socrates did nothing wrong and was unjustly killed. All one has to do is look at Socrates' history and what he has said and done to see that truth and justice was served by him being found guilty and sentenced to death.
Socrates was irresponsible in many different ways. He stopped working as a stonecutter and talked at the Agora, therefore leaving his wife and children without an income. Socrates also shows irresponsibility when he said "you might realize the fact that it does not seem like human nature for me to neglect all my own affairs" (33). It is human nature to neglect your affairs; you can see that today with the millions of people with large amounts of credit card debt...
