Diverse Ideas on Education Reform
Education is a very critical issue in America. Different groups, organizations, and political leaders have all brainstormed and tried to create plans or "reforms" designed to improve education in America. Many people have voiced their opinions and concerns on what has been successful and what still needs to be altered, so that education may reach a level that is satisfactory to the majority, if not all, of America. A wide variety of people such as President Bush, Senator Craig Thomas of Wyoming, and David F. Salisbury, former professor of educational research at Florida State University, have concerns regarding education reform. These three people have performed speeches which reflect their beliefs on what they feel needs to be done to reform education. They do contain various differences in point of view and goals. The speeches given by these political figures are similar in the sense that the primary focus is reform of American education. They are different in that each speech attacks different aspects of reform which need to be reviewed.
