The popularity of Japanese culture is growing in America. This is evident by the increasing sales of anime DVD's, videos, games, and Manga. Manga seems to have an ageless interest. The art depicting differing cultures in Manga, with the same social issues in many cultures, seem to have special connections to students in America. Students can imagine themselves in the Manga because of its beautifully drawn pictures and realistically written fantasy. One Manga I have read that could have great potential in the classroom is Kare Kano. From what I have learned after reading Kare Kano, great student lessons and self-awareness issues can be taken from the book.
I have learned a lot from reading Kare Kano about various ideas. After reading this Manga, I was reminded that High School is a social time for students. Teachers often think that learning is the only reason for High School and Middle School...
