Ian McEwan - the author -
Ian McEwan was born on 21 June in 1948 in England. He spent much of his childhood in the Far East, Germany and North Africa where his father, an officer in the army, was posted.
All of his early pieces were notorious for their dark themes and perverse material. The extreme issues of his works are concerned with abnormal sexual attraction to children, murder, incest and violence.
As a conclusion I could say that his works deal with people and with the relationships that can occur between them.
On the other hand, Enduring Love begins with the death of a man in a ballooning accident, an event that triggers a tale of stalking, fixation and sexual obsession.
The very first sentence of Enduring Love-its effects and implications-
"The beginning is simple to mark"
The opening sentence of chapter one is short and concise, yet it holds a meaning that is neither. As the reader is aware, the beginning is never simple to mark, as the designated start will always be controversial. Even if the beginning is simple to mark, nothing else in the story ever would be.
I would like to say that the effect that very first sentence caused in me was shocking...
