Meningitis is a disease were you could loose use of your body's vital organs or also complete paralysis from the neck down. Meningitis is caused by inflammation in the meninges. The meninges are membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord. This disease can also be caused by other self-limiting diseases such as mumps, echo, coxsackie virus. There are two types of Meningitis, bacterial and viral. Bacterial is the deadliest of the two that's because it occurs mostly in infants and young children, which don't have a fully developed immune system. So in other words the disease will spread faster in children than in adults. Some of the after math of bacterial Meningitis are degree's of paralysis, behavioral disturbances, and mental retardation. Viral Meningitis is the less serious out of the two. Meaning bacterial causes more deaths (never mind I'm guessing you probably already knew that)...
