It is often much easier to stay in our comfort zone, to stay safe with no chance of failure. Sometimes we don’t take risks, we don’t dare, don’t try to change and to be better, to achieve our dreams, to be the persons we are called to be. But great things were never achieved by people who stayed anchored in familiar waters. Feats worth of remembrance are only achieved by those who are willing to take a risk, to sail away from a safe harbour and discover new waters. In our 128 year rich history, our Terrace tradition, we build on the story of those who have gone before us. But it is not a dead history, a dead tradition, for we build on the efforts of men who did risk , who did venture out from the harbour, away from safety. Men like St. Joseph, who took a risk and trusted God even though he was criticised and looked down upon by the people around him. Men like Blessed Edmund Rice who risked everything he had to help the poor. Many of you would have seen the The Two Towers during the holidays.
