INTRODUCTION
Crime is a problem that we all must face. The chances of any of us becoming a victim of a crime vary depending on several factors. Some of these include where our residence is located, our income, age and race. The latter of these, race, is less of a factor than some researchers have made it out to be. Through the use of available data and recent research, this paper will point out that crime is everyone's problem. A problem with no easy solutions. It is expected that research in this area will show that crime rates are not a race issue but are a socioeconomic issue. Based on that assumption this paper will focus on income as it relates to location of residence and where available how education affects these factors.
LITERATURE REVIEW
Research in this area has been sparse, therefore most of the data will be taken from public documents such as the Uniform Crime Report(UCR) compiled from police reports by the Federal government. Also, the National Crime Victimization Survey(NCVS), will be used...
