In the final episode of M*A*S*H 4007 Hawkeye and some refugees were trapped on a bus. They could hear the enemy outside and did not want to be found, because if they were they would most certainly have been killed. As everyone was getting quiet a baby started crying. Hawkeye told the mother to shut the baby up, which she did, and they were not found and everyone lived. It turns out that as she was "shutting the baby up" she suffocated him. Hawkeye felt so responsible after the incident, he was admitted to a psychiatric hospital for a while. He kept saying that she killed a chicken not a baby. This was his way of coping with his own guilt. He kept telling the mother to shut the baby up, and as a result she suffocated her child. He does finally come to terms with what has happened and is sent back to a M*A*S*H unit...
