Recently I have been struggling with the concept of feminization of the Church. Does feminization of the Church strive to include women or eventually exclude men? The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines feminization as the noun which refers to giving a feminine quality to; or causing a male to take on feminine characters. If complete feminization is the ultimate goal of the Church, then feminization is wrong.
There are extreme differences between men and women, not only physically and emotionally but also spiritually. In the most general sense, spirituality is defined as the ways and patterns by which people-intellectually, emotionally, and physically-relate to that which is ultimately real and worthful for him or her (Nelson). To deny natural differences between men and women goes against science and experience. Men and women have different experiences in life. Men are able to experience fatherhood, brotherhood, and manhood. No matter how hard we try, women can never have these experiences...
