Gender in the Workplace
Many differences exist between the two sexes. With stereotypical, evolutionary, biological and social differences, it comes as no surprise that a "gender gap" exists, especially when it comes issues concerning communication. Closing, or at least minimizing the gap becomes possible and, even more so, desirable as more women enter the workforce. Not only are there an increased number of women joining the men at their jobs, but also more and more female workers are advancing quickly within the lines of their companies.
There are numerous benefits of improved communication between men and women at work. Among these are positive outcomes such as more effective teamwork, better sales results, more satisfied customers, higher job satisfaction, and lower stress. Increased communication and understanding may even reduce sexual harassment problems, which are becoming more and more frequent. If there were more acceptance of woman in the workforce, not only would the women achieve more for themselves, but they will be able to achieve more for their companies as well. Women, hidden in the crowds, are an untapped resource. Allowing them to shine through and succeed will also improve the quality of the company they are representing, which is profitable for everyone...
