Imagine you were living in a time period where a war was going on in the world. Imagine you were ten years old and were stranded on an island with many other people your age. In the book Coral Island the boys all survive and live happily ever after, but is this realistic? A realistic situation is written in a book called Lord Of the Flies. William Golding compares the problems the boys are having on the island to the real world. They are similar in many ways. The civilization throughout the novel on the island becomes parallel to the civilization in the real world.
The boys want grown ups on the island but grown ups are what caused them to be on the island in the first place. If there had been no war, they would not be flying anywhere because they would not need to be moved to a safer place. Although the boys think that adults are mature, set rules, and keep things in order, they are wrong - in a way...
