Communism had come into America in the early 1900's. America has never taken well to a drastic change in the system, so later on in towards the middle of the 1900's America decided to take a final strike at Communism. The House on Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) was created to protect America in times of the Communist scare. Its mission was to destroy all propaganda that the Communist party put out. The nine-day trials in Hollywood became the most famous of trials of the era. Not even the Hiss-Chambers hearings matched it . Even though the House on Un-American Activities Committee did not solely focus on Hollywood, it was the Committee's greatest blunder. Hollywood was the one of the only places where their trials were based upon word of mouth and little fact. Their interest in Hollywood dates back to the 1940's. But that interest was soon out done when the HUAC chairman John Rankin "found" evidence that showed Hollywood as being the "greatest hotbed of subversive activities in the United States" ...
