So here I was, going through what every other normal teenager goes through, high school. Of course none of us really want to be there but we put up with it purely because we know what'll happen if we were to leave. I'd made it this far and I wasn't about to bomb out during my final year. Being a senior at school definitely made it a lot more enjoyable, 'senior ship' gave off an emanating hype that made you feel really grownup.
I grew up in a seemingly ordinary Canadian family. I have the third birthday videotapes to prove it. I enjoyed sports and tapped into a lot of my co-ordinations by default but indoors I was decidedly more placid.
Swimming was a major part of my life and it definitely dominated almost all the choices and decisions I made. The squad of swimmers who I trained with were, by a long shot, my circle of friends.
It's within this circle of friends that my story takes its skeleton...
