Today, society's views and lifestyles are not what they used to be. Thin is beautiful, obese is obscene, fast food is everywhere, and life goes at 1000 miles per hour. With all these elements now built into our society, it is not hard for the average American to be snared into the clutches of an unhealthy diet.
With our current hectic lifestyles and society constantly on the go, people can't always find the time to fit in the three main meals dietitians say we should all have. In the mornings, breakfast is often forgotten or dropped entirely because we feel sleep is more important than food. After a late night up working or out partying and drinking with friends, making sure we have a good breakfast the next morning is not our main priority. To compensate, we over-eat during lunch time or snack on junk food to tide over the hunger from going for several hours without food. Quite often, these snacks have minimal nutritional value and are high in sugars and fat, neither of which are good for us in large quantities. This persistent breakfast-skipping quickly becomes a habit in our adolescent years and continues on to become second nature in adulthood. Our mothers have always told us that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and for good reason...
