I grew up in a town where camping was a part of the lifestyle and virtually every friend and acquaintance I had in school went camping with their families. For example, my friend Shelly loved going camping. Shelly and I really looked forward to the weekends with our families where we could spend time camping in the great outdoors. On the following Monday we would get together and talk about our weekend adventures. During these conversations I determined that we both had the same goal of spending the night under the stars away from home, but we actually had very different experiences. You see, Shelly and her family camped in a camper trailer. This was virtually a house on wheels, only a much smaller version. However, my family and I camped with a tent. While they are both considered “camping”, the differences between the two can be extreme. The first difference would be cleaning up after a day of playing hard in the “great outdoors”. Shelly’s family had the convenience of a “real” shower.
