Let the Celebration Begin It is what every kid dreams of. It’s what every parent hopes of. Parents will cry, kids will shout with joy, there will be laughter and sobs. It is a time for family to gather to celebrate a great moment in a child’s life. It is graduation day. Nothing is more exciting for a kid than to walk across that stage and receive his diploma. There has not been anything more exciting happen to me than when I too, walked a crossed the stage and received my own diploma. It was May 23, 2003. It was a clear, sunny, Sunday. The wind blew enough to tickle your skin. It was a perfect day. I arrived around 12:30. I entered the school only to see a mob of parents and students hugging and crying and sharing a few last moments before the graduation ceremonies were to start. As I started walking through the wall way into the cafeteria where everyone was to meet, I could feel the excitement build. I could not believe that this day had finally come. I was fully ready for it. I finally weaved my way through the traffic of people to enter the cafeteria. I had made it this far, but I still had to make it to the principal’s office to receive my gold belt for achieving a 3.0 or higher all the way through my high school career.
