The depletion of the ozone is a serious subject that people do not take seriously. If the ozone layer disappears completely the effects would be felt by everybody. It would change the way people in society live. They would have to change their lifestyles in order to fit the needs of the new environment that would form due to the ozone layer being gone, because most of the plants will be dead and also many small living organisms. People would probably have to live inside a bio-dome in order to survive.
First, here is a brief background of what the ozone layer is. The ozone layer is a part of the stratosphere, which is the second layer in the earth's atmosphere. The ozone layer is composed of O3 molecules. "These O3 molecules are formed by molecules of oxygen (O2) getting broken down by ultraviolet radiation into single atoms (O), and some of these atoms combined with oxygen molecules to form O3" (Dixon, 22).
