Sexual Orientation is a Result of Biology
Sexual orientation is an individual's propensity towards love for individuals of the same sex, opposite sex, or to both sexes. In our society we label our sexual orientation with terms such as gay, lesbian, bisexual, homosexual, or heterosexual. My original opinion was that in our society people should be heterosexual, that males and females were suppose find the opposite sex attractive. But I discovered that there were other sexual orientations and I began to question why some people are attracted to the same sex as themselves and others are not. What makes an individual become a specific sexual orientation, genetics or learned behavior? There are many arguments concerning sexual orientation discussing whether it is a result of the environment or if it is a result of biology. I think that an individual's sexual orientation is a result of biology and is not a learned behavior.
Past research has indicates that biological factors play a role in determining human sexual orientation. Neuroscientist Simon LeVay studied the brains of heterosexual and homosexual male cadavers.
