It is a known fact that all women in the Middle East are considered
second-class citizens. All citizens should be able to enjoy rights,
Privileges and security that are allowed by the country that they
Live in. However in Middle East countries most laws work in
favour of gender inequality. These unjust laws discriminate against
Women by preventing them from enjoying the same quality of life
that men have. Most laws or rules that govern the people are based
on religion, custom, culture and tradition. The lawmakers believe
that the family is the basic unit of the state. Therefore their primary
concern is with the protection of the family, instead of the
protection of the family's members.
These laws prevent many of the Arab women from getting a
divorce or gaining custody of their children. Also they were
discouraged from marring foreigners because their husband would
be denied citizenship as well as their children. Other rights that
they would be denied is access to education and healthcare and to
own land as well as any inheritance...
