"Discriminating Against Discrimination"
Affirmative Action was born in the Civil Rights movement. It's major purpose and effect was to ensure racial, sex, and ethical equality in employment and public education. Affirmative Action was born in a time period where America was attempting to abolish all inequalities and discrimination towards certain races and sexes. The government believed that using this process in America's education and employment was critical to the growth of our country. Some still believe that racial and ethical discrimination occurs in our education and employment offices. For the last four decades, African Americans, Asians, females and etc., having been fighting for a level playing field with the formerly dominated white male in education and employment. But as our nation begins the 21st century, a popular question is asked. Who is really getting discriminated against?
In our public educational institutes, Affirmative Action and racial quotas are often compared and associated with each other...
