Everyone's American Dream involves wanting to do better, get further and get more. Our dreams change as we meet people and experience new things in life. F. Scott Fitzgerald portrays himself in his characters Dexter Green and Jay Gatsby therefore his novels were like his life.
F. Scott Fitzgerald as a young boy discovered that he was good at writing stories and plays. As he grew up, he often cast himself as the star of his plays and put people who he wanted to be his friends into the cast. At a sophomore dance at his college, Princeton, the father of a girl he liked that no poor boy could date his daughter. Because of this Fitzgerald tried harder to be successful. He failed at college though and went to Camp Sheridan to fight in the war...
