The problem with American society is that it is devoted to faith in money and the materials it brings, rather than family and spirituality. Life should be spent in the pursuit of happiness. People are led to believe that superficial entities will bring them happiness. A large house with a big screen television is a nice luxury, but it will not help fill the void many people feel. The happiness from these luxuries will not last very long. They will then be replaced with an even larger house with a new car to go with it. It is not things that people need, people need a purpose. Superficial contentment is only temporary, contentment through spirituality is eternal. Superficiality is a distraction from spirituality.
