These attacks on Pearl Harbour spread fear through Australians and sparked a fuse of panic which spread. In Australia during world war 2 life and work changed dramatically for all Australians. Life changed for Australians in various ways but one of those more dominating changes was controls that the government put on Australians. Because of Australia’s roll in the war and the size of our country (for the amount of people in it), we became I prime target for invasion. When the Australian government realized Australia was being threatened controls were put in to place to insure that all that could be done was being done to save Australia from invasion and from being attacked. Australians were forced to abide by controls set up by the government to insure the safety of Australians from attacks. Some of the precautions that were taken to stop air raids at night were; Cars were fitted with hoods over there lights, but this wasn’t a very popular measure because they did little and were dangerous for driving at night. All schools had air raid shelters as well as parks and buildings. In some cases buildings were so heavily sandbagged that they didn’t even appear to look like buildings but rather a stock pile of sand bags.
