The novel Ganglands by Maureen McCarthy explore a mixture of infatuation, love, sex, death, grief, guilt, racism, peer-pressure, standing for principles and making painful decisions. I thought the book was satisfactory but it would be better if they would go on and on about making pizza and other uninteresting topics. The book ganglands have several key moments like one of the main moments at the start of the book was when phil was the cause of Vasilious’s death. I thought the book was interesting because it shows a young girl who has finished high school and is being welcome to the big wide world.
