picture composition analysis

chosen the film, Devil’s Advocate. I started from the 37th minute (actually 37.30). There is a conversation between the mother and the son in a hospital in the 37th minute. But when I freeze the frame and observe it in detail l, I have seen things that I have never seen before since I watched this movie so many times. First of all in the first scene there is a fight scene between the mother and his son. While the son shouts at his mother I freeze the scene and eventually the scene divided into two. Suddenly the background took my attention. The son in the foreground became as if he is invisible. I think the harmony at the background took my attention. There were 2 vertical lines dividing the scene into two. The left part of the scene is green (it is the painting on the wall, and it is green) and the right side is in bright colors. The son was placed in the right part of the scene but the starting point of my eye is on the left. It is because of the green color I think. But after I took my attention from the green color, my eyes continued to look around in the background rather than the foreground. Because as I said there were parallel vertical lines one after the other. And the green vertical line which divides the scene into two transformed my eye to the other vertical line at the background. Then at the end, I came back to foreground to the son. I couldn’t turn my starting point because the scene was over there. Even, I couldn’t have time to observe the son if I hadn’t freeze the scene. But at this moment the male character took my attention because he shouts at his mother and runs away from the place in front of the camera. Than the scene changes here, the male character starts to walk to the opposite way. And here at this point I freeze the scene again. Because here there is again completely a different composition.
