The film "The Wild Bunch" is considered one of the greatest western movies ever made. It stars William Holden, Robert Ryan, and Ernest Borgnine and was written and directed by Sam Peckinpah. It was nominated for an Academy Award for the screenplay and for Original score in 1970. It is a great movie, which has a lot of symbolism and deeper meaning in the story. The actors, the character that the actors portray, the themes, the symbolism, and the director made the movie what is was. Without any of the factors, the movie may not have been as memorable as it is.
One of the reasons that "The Wild Bunch" was the movie that it is, is because of the actors and the characters that they portray. The film has some memorable performances by some top-notch western actors. The cast, which included Robert Ryan, William Holden, and Ernest Borgnine, is perfectly cast in their roles as "bad guys", who happen to be much better people than the so called good guys. There is a complexity in each of the characters that goes beyond what is shown on the screen...
