Is Marxism dead?

Introduction
Living in a society of wealth and prosperity, many would argue that the constant battle of class struggle, oppression, false consciousness and struggle advocated by Marx is redundant. However, history has been shaped by the political responses to Marxism. The Communist regimes of USSR, Cuba and Vietnam bear tribute to this. As such, 'on reading Marx's writings on philosophy, history, economics, and sociology, one is struck not only by their remarkable breadth and depth, but above all by their relevance to the world today.'
It is easy to claim that Marxism has failed because it has not been readily accepted by international politics. Although most statesmen do not accept the philosophy, it is fundamentally the underlying principle of modern society. In order to show the relevance, and dominance of Marxism, I will consider the following;
Marxism and The State;
Marxism, Globalisation and the developing world;
Marxism and The Economy; and
A case for Liberalism and Realism?
