How do we know? What makes us so sure that everything we learn is in fact real and true? There are many things involved in the proof of a statement. One such is facts; however, facts by themselves are not sufficient. There also needs to be evidence, experience, perception, the use of language, information, reason and logic, as well as emotion and intuition; in other words, the bases of knowledge. All of these complement each other, and joining all of them together, the necessary proof for a statement can be obtained. However, depending on what kind of statement is being confirmed, different facts and different resources must be used in order to achieve proof.
Proof can be summarized into one single word: knowledge. Knowledge is what provides us with information about the past, present, and future, and most importantly, with proof.
