The vision of India
The great religions of the world are the manifestations of man's quest for the divine. These manifestations, in India can be seen in three religions. They are India's vision of the divine and thus Hinduism, Jainism and Sikhism are part and parcel of this vision. Through these three religions, the people of India and others who have embraced the religions seek to the divine and the eternal.
In Hinduism as in other world religions, scriptures exist, that contain chants, psalms, commentaries, myths and other writings of scripture. The 4 Verdas, which were used before 1000BC, contain psalms, chants, and spells. Another scripture Brahmans from around 800BC contains mystical views on the Alman and Brahaman. The laws of Manu from around 100AD are laws of Hinduism small phrases of life. The other 2 scriptures are Bhavagad Gita and the Puranas.
