Most people spend their entire lives trying to create a utopian society for themselves, but such a thing is always unattainable and they end up with a dystopia. ... Several of these characteristics are brought out in the novel “1984.” The society in the novel “1984" characterizes a good example of a dystopia.
One of the characteristics of the dystopia in 1984 is that there is a food and
chocolate ration. ... In the story, the citizens in 1984 become excited as they learn that the chocolate ration has gone up to 20 grams per week. ... The idea of the thoughtpolice in “1984" is scary because of what they can do to you for thinking the wrong thing, and the fact that they can actually know you’re thinking it.
