Space, the final frontier, a vast sea of nothingness speckled with planets and stars, has fascinated our species since the dawn of mankind. Indeed our species has come far, but how far we have actually progressed pales in comparison to the sea of nothingness. The overwhelming vastness of space is difficult to conceptualize, through baby steps, our species hopes to achieve infinite knowledge of our celestial neighbors. Through the observation of our extraterrestrial neighbors, we hope to unlock the countless secrets contained, and perhaps answer the most captivating secret of all: are/were we alone?
Those "baby steps" that we have completed are obvious, the stellar telescopes that race through space, capturing every detail of every planet, the lunar landings, and most obvious: our successful domination of our orbit. Another baby step has been taken recently to further our knowledge of the universe, two consecutive successful landings of Mars rovers. Through their mechanical eyes, fingers, and feet, we hope to answer that awe inspiring question for the last time.
Divulge into the wondrous technology that allowed for this feat to be accomplished. The mars rover consists of nine main components: A body, the brains, temperature control, a head and neck, "eyes," arm, wheels, energy, and communication. (NASA) Each part serves its own specific purpose; the body contains all the essential "organs...
