What exactly is Delusional Disorder? Delusional Disorder is a serious condition where a person loses touch with actual reality. This is a very rare disorder that only affects about 1 in every 1,000 people. This disorder is usually more common in people with a family history of schizophrenia, and with people that have poor hearing and eyesight. ... ” There are so many things out there that will trigger this disorder; such things include alcohol and/ or drug misuse, the daily stresses of unemployment, poor housing, or poverty. The causes of this disorder may include abnormalities in the limbic system; this has to do with the brain and the part that regulates emotions. ...
