In the Early 1900s many Canadian artists expressed their creative abilities by mostly painting or drawing scenery of their proud land, Canada. Some of these artists found that they had two major things in common: one, that they had a love for producing artwork and two, which is that they were painters bitten by the Canadian North. Seven of these artistic men got together and formed a group. Together they decided to accomplish something that had not yet been done. For the first time, these men would paint the great power, scenery, and spirit of their proud Canadian land. This group wanted to capture the beautiful expressions of this county's land. They were inspired to change the European style of painting and make it their own. Finally, in 1920, they became an official group of talented men called the group of seven. The Group of Seven was very popular and attracted many contemporary artists, even females, such as Emily Carr. People like Edwin Holgate for example were highly involved and influence by the Group of Seven's art that they had the pleasure of joining the set of painters...
