The film, and the novel on Of Mice And Men, has a major theme of friendship, and thus relationships between characters. "A guy goes nuts if he aint got nobody. Don't matter no difference who the guy is, long as he's with you. I tell ya, a guy gets too lonely an' he gets sick." This is a quote that sums it all up, and both book and movie use it. But the two also have many differences, and friendships are conveyed differently. In some instances, it seems to give a slightly different meaning to the friendships experienced by everyone.
