Of Mice and Men In the novel Of Mice and Men written by John Steinbeck, had a great theme, which was companionship. George and Lennie both had their own physical characteristics. Their personalities differed in many was as well. George and Lennie each had their goals and dreams, as well as the ones they shared. Steinbeck’s novel compares and contrasts the physical characteristics, personalities, and the goals and dreams of George and Lennie. George and Lennie both had their own physical characteristics. George was very defined and had strong features throughout his body, “Small, dark face, restless eyes, sharp strong features every part of him was defined: small strong hands, slender arms, and a thin pointy nose’’(2). Steinbeck explained the physical characteristics in detail. Lennie on the other hand had awkward physical characteristics, “Huge man, shapeless face, with large pale eyes, with wide sloping shoulders, he walked heavily draggin his feet the war a bear does’’(2).
