What is Ergonomics?
Ergonomics is the study of the balance between people and their working environments. It is the process of changing the workplace to suit the safety and health of those who use the environment. If ergonomics is not followed correctly it can lead to RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury).
What is RSI?
Repetitive Strain Injuries occur when physical movements are repeated more often than usual causing a lot of strain and doing damage to the tendons, nerves, muscles, and other soft body tissues. Occupations like meatpacking, musicians, typists etc, in which such injuries can happen due to the repetitive tasks they perform. These people and the tasks they perform can often lead to RSI.
The rise of computer use and improper working conditions has resulted in a rise of RSI related injuries of the hands, arms, and shoulders etc. The reason for this is the long hours of using computers and the work stations improperly this result in long-term damage to the body...
