During the design phase of a network there are two things that a network engineer must consider before they begin the physical setup of a network; these include the logical and physical designs of the network. The logical design can be described as the flow of data across the network with no concern for which platform or applications are being utilized.
During the logical design the focus is on the overall procedure in which data is transmitted from one node to another.
