This story and epic poem can be said to have a connection with this quote because each has a story about going through a hell of a time. This quote means that when you are going through a very bad time keep on going on because in the end it will pay of in the end either sometime in life or when you die. The quote can be related to Pilgrim’s Progress because the story is about this guy named Christian and his companion Faithful who are traveling to the Celestial City. While on the way they run into the town called Vanity where a fair is going on. The owner of the fair is Beelzebub who is Satan. The character Faithful is persecuted for the way he is not tempted by the wares in the fair. He is later grabbed by the leader of the fair to be put on a jury trial. He has three witnesses Envy, Superstition, and Pick-thank against him, who help condemn him because he is not like them. He is then juried by a group of people from Vanity.
