Genetic engineering is a very controversial topic of the world today. People argue the pros and the cons of the idea and no side seems to ever win. There are good things it could offer and then there are bad things which could hurt the world and everyone who inhabits it. In the novel Frankenstein there are many aspects which allude to the results of genetic engineering and the negative effects it offers. Even though the story is not directly linked to genetic engineering it offers great references to dangers and depending upon how you look at it, some possible good effects.
"Genetic engineering is used to take genes and DNA from one specimen and put it into another. This will cause the product to obtain attributes of both of the things it was split with." (The Women's Environmental Network Trust, Alice Franks, 2003). In Frankenstein Victor took parts from dead bodies and put them together to make a creature.
