Jackie Collins Growing up out of the country and being around your families theatrical lifestyle has an effect on how you live your life in the future. Having an influence with a life of being rich and famous makes you into the person you will become. When someone writes they write what they know, grew up with, or where they have traveled to. Jackie Collins’ life as well as her books illustrate her family background and places she has resided. Jackie Collins’ relates to her families lifestyle in her romantic and intense novels. First, “While [her sister] made her name in films and television dramas, Jackie became a listener who drew celebrities out about their secrets…” (Jackie Collins). This helped her to mature as a writer and allowed her to have insight on celebrities for her novels. Many of Collins’ novels have many of her characters being in a film or being apart of the film. To be exact, the main character in Thrill!, Lara Ivory was a very famous actress in many films in the novel. Characters in this novel also draw out celebrities and long to discover their faults. Furthermore, since she was “born in London in 1941 [and] was encouraged to enter show business by her father, a theatrical agent,” London usually shows up in her settings (Jackie Collins).
