Families are facing a harder time now then ever before. With more broken homes, or just unhappy ones, the stability of family is no longer something to be counted on. The problem that leads to such family troubles is often communication break-down. In order to re-establish the family as an unbreakable, trusting union, communication lines must be reopened in a non-threatening, open and honest fashion, this is not always easy, communication is a skill that must be learned. A trusting happy family leads to good things in every member's life. Also, by learning to communicate well with people you know and feel comfortable with, you are also learning how to express yourself to strangers, friends, co-workers and lovers. Communication helps define who we are and how we get along with other people. The earlier communication starts with a child the better that child will be at it. Parents are therefore the most important instructor of communication and for that reason will be the focus of this paper.
